Sometimes winter has its compensations, there was the most fantastic sunset and winter sky here this evening.

I agree, the sunsets at this time of year can be quite stunning. We have tall elm trees on the boundary at the bottom of our garden, which I usually don't like in the summer because they block the light. At this time of year, they come into their own and their 'skeletons' look magnificent against orange/red sunsets, with the sea beyond twinkling in the distance. Moves me to get out my camera - and sometimes my paints!

My OH thinks I'm crackers,as I say to him...just look at the lovely sunset...he thinks I'm obsessed. We have a beautiful sea view from our house, and sometimes a cloud with the sun behind looks like an island round the bay.I have also got photos of sunrises, especially in spring if I get up early. The colours are fantastic....wish I could paint!
