I have just received a death certificate for my gg uncles wife, who died in 1949 aged 79. Everything matches up with what I Know or should I say what I have found out, My gg uncles name was Frederick James. Her brother registered the death and my gg uncles name is William Frederick. Has I said everything else matches, address of where they where living at the time, her brothers name, so does anyone think that my gg uncles brother-in-law just got it wrong.

Have you looked for your gg uncles family in any census or looked for his birth record? What was the surname?

Yes Kathleen got all the information the family name is Wells on his wife death certificate it says he was a breaklayer which he was, apart for a short time when he was a horse dealer at Southall Market, so I'm sure that I've got the right wife, just that her brother got his name mixed up.

Linda

Most of the information on a death certificate is only what the informant knows.

The only information that you can depend on is:-

date of death
cause of death
place of death
name of doctor or coroneer
name, address and relationahip of informant

Everyhting else is what the informant has been told ....... or remembers!

Hi Sylvia,

how are you, I think Hannahs brother got my gg uncles name wrong he was Frederick James but on the death certificate its William Frederick but everything else is right. They lost two children and I received the two death certificates and its the same adress for all of them apart from gg uncle who died in hospital but his address is down has the same, so no mistake.

Hows Mahone bay have you been up there lately? and hows the new baby?

perhaps he was known as Bill so the BIL assumed his name was William Frederick. if everything else tallies then BIL gave the wrong info.!

Hi Shirley,

I know that he was known as Fred or uncle Fred has a member of the family has sent me information about this branch of the family, I can only think that the registar took the name down wrong.

Hi Linda

We're fine, thank you. Hope you are?

I think you have the correct certificate. Just a bit of forgetfulness??

Was in Mahone Bay in April ..... on a gorgeous sunny day.

Baby is growing like a weed ..... they were over this side for 5 weeks in the summer.

We're going over there for Christmas, by train both ways .......... but don't know whether we'll get to Mahone Bay. Depends a lot on the weather! Those roads can be treacherous in winter, and we aren't renting a car this time.

Hi Syliva,

I having my nineth grandchild due on the 1 of Feb a little boy this will be my 7th grandson, We had a scare with him we thought he had downs but my daughter had all the tests and thank god everything was ok.

Yes I'm sure that I have the right certificate, I'll just have to put it down to one of those things.

I should think that Mahone Bay would be very pretty this time of the year maybe one of these fine days I will get to visit there.

That's really good news about the baby! So glad to hear it.

Hope things continue to go well

I think the one we have will be the one and only .... we only had one child, and that's the way they're leaning. Well, she is 36, and it took a long while for this one!

Oh, I would love to see Mahone Bay in the snow ................ but snow means the highway could be very treacherous. We'll have to see ........... it's one of their favourite places, as well as mine

Hi Syliva,

My daughter will be 40 two days after the new baby is due, she has a baby every six years. Her eldest son will be 18 in Feb the next son down will be 12 in Feb and her daughter was six in sept. I joke with her I'm not looking forward to her 46th birthday, but she says this is their last. has long has they are both ok thats all that matters.
