If Christmas dinner was left to me Claire, I think we'd probably be having the same as you. However it's not ; so we'll be eating spiced lamb :)

We generally have ham on the bone and colonial Goose (which is Roast Lamb) and there is always trifle and other goodies including cherries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries etc.

It will be Turkey again for us.I would love to have a nice joint of beef but I know what the reaction would be from my lot lol.
Must make sure I don't have too many drinkie poos while I cook though ,as one year I dished up ,we all started to eat until we realised I hadn't put the Turkey on the plates. It was already carved and keeping warm ,so it was plopped on the table wrapped in foil and we just all helped ourselves lol

If you are having Venison Merlin, it wont be Bambi,

Bambi was a baby deer and venison is an adult deer :)))

Sorry to be late on parade for this one, been away a couple of days so just catching up.
We used to have goose, but now there is only two of us, I'm afraid it will be a chicken. But it will be fresh from the farm shop. I always saved the goose fat for the Roasties, and it kept for a few weeks in the fridge.
So, this year, because I want abit of everything, and want to keep it as light as possible, here is my menu
STARTER
Roast Beets with Feta Cheese and Walnuts with melba Toast.
MAINS
R. Chicken with Fresh Home made Stuffing, Home made Cranberry Sauce, Home made Spiced Red Cabbage and Pigs in Blankets.
R. Potatoes,R.Parsnips, Carrots, Peas and Brussells
All small portions so I can have everything. Yum,yum
AFTERS
Clementine and Tia Maria Individual Trifles Topped with Roast Cobnuts and Chocolate Curls.

EVENING
A selection of savoury nibbles, Pork Pie, and an assortment of Home made pickles and cheeses.

I will also be roasting a piece of Ham in Plum Sauce for carving cold.

Looking forward to it.
