Thankyou all for your sympathetic answers re my Dads passing.

He had been suffering with Altzeimers for a few years, and the last stroke he had left him in a coma for a month before he slipped away in his sleep.

It is very sad,but at least we know that in body at least,he never suffered any pain, and his passing is,in a way,a relief,

You are right,we will all hopefully meet up in heaven, and as I said to the lovely lady Vicar,Dad will be ever so cross if he is in Heaven,as he was a staunch Athiest!!

Annina, well done, I am so pleased you have found your brother and that you are starting to catch up with each other's lives.

My sympathy on losing your Dad but maybe the timing was for a reason, who knows? There will come a time when they will meet, but hopefully not yet so you have lots of time to spend in contact with your brother.

Thanks all for replying,I have been frantically writing to my new found brother all day.

He had no idea that I exsisted and it has been an emotional weekend.

He lives in Belgium where he was brought up by his mother, who split up with our dad before he was born.

One of the wierd things is,on his facebook photo he looks the image of Grandfather who he never knew,I am now having the task of chasing up as many photo's of the family as possible.

Will keep you all updated.

I am so happy for you. That is a long time looking!!!!.I found my birth family through GR by just one click on the button .What a shock that was.I found I was 1 of 8 children.(number 6).I was the only one given up for adoption.I am now in touch with 2 half brothers and a cousin.Nobody new I existed !!None of us know who are fathers were.My Birth Mother died in 1994.I just had the best life being adopted and am grateful I was given up,because I would have grown up in care like the others.
I hope you soon get to meet your Brother.

At last, after 40 yrs looking for my half Brother,I found him on Friday.
Not,on here, which is why I joined in the first place, but over on Facebook.
I have spent the weekend sending him messages and verifing that we are, indeed, half brother and sister. Apparently he had no idea that my siblings and I existed, and is chuffed as we are,the sad thing is,my Dad died only three weeks ago, so he will never meet him.

Has enyone spent more time searching for a rellie, don't give up however despondant you feel, there is always a chance.
