Bless her, Puss, my Mum was the same, she loved to cook for us so we used to go round many Sundays for lunch or for a meal with her during the week, luckily we only lived 20 mins walk away so after I had given the children back that I child minded, my son, dog and me would walk round and Mum would do fish and chips, as only my Mum could make them. I would wash up and manage to give the kitchen a quick wipe over, her eyesight was a bit cloudy so she didn't see the dirt lol and then we would walk back later in the evening.

Hope your Mum can find ways to stem the loneliness before the winter sets in - I know you will make sure she is ok.

Your mum sounds like a very nice lady!

Of course she feels lonely - do your bit and make her feel wanted by "inviting yourselves" to Sunday lunch every now and then.

She'll love you for it - and you'll get very well fed!

She's lucky to have a daughter who appreciates her.
