I have been told by my OH who has been researching it for me that Amazon keeps a 'library' for you with the books you have downloaded in it. I beleive this is in case you lose a book you can download it again, I assume for free. |

Could any one say roughly how much the downloads cost? Currently I'm buying ordinary books from charity shops at about £1.50 each and need to weigh up the cost benefits. |

Thank you for that Fran, a good recommendation. I didn't realise that you could buy from other sites though so especially thank you for that. |

I love my Kindle, have had it nearly a month now, early Christmas present. Amazon have thousands of books to choose from including the classics, a lot of which are free. It is also easy to buy from other sites and just have the format changed. Believe me if I can do it anyone can!! Have 67 books on my Kindle so far, not having a Library near me it is wonderful to just click the download button and have the book on my Kindle in seconds ( I have wifi only). I just love it, best present ever....... |

Thank you Esta. Daughter has a Kindle, son has a different one, may be a Sony. The Kindle I found easy to read, some are not so easy. I think Amazon are increasing their selection all the time. |

A kindle is a device that allows you to read books by downloading the book from the internet onto the device - a bit like downloading music onto an ipod. |

Hello Ann, hope you are well. Obviously I have not got one, or I would not be asking the question. But:- |

If so, what do you think of it? Worth buying? |
