From what I have read, cats have a stomach the size of a walnut so should only be fed small portions.

I give my cat half a sachet at a time and find he finishes the whole sachet this way. There is always a bowl of biscuits out for him too.

So,last night, where, exactly, did he put the half sachet of food, the short snack of biscuits and the whole rat that he followed it with,He did,out of politeness I am sure, leave an inch of the tail.

We have kept cats for over 50 yrs and i was brought up with them. They are individuals and some cats are better with small meals frequently and others will stuff enough at on sitting to last all day. Our house cat now will only get through one pouch in a day and she is a little tub! The two strays that we feed can between them get through one large tin at breakfast and come back in the evening for another tin and maybe whatever is left anywhere from our meals. They also drink at least one dish of milk each at each sitting. Maybe its because life is not so comfortable for them, out in the cold all the time, though they have a shelter if they feel like using it.

But where did he put that rat?

Hedgehogs are the same.I have wintered a few babies and have always marvelled at how much they can pack in.
