Robin, thanks for that, when i phoned them the Manageress was very apologetic and said that the next time i was in the store, to ask for her so that she could put things right but, i was so annoyed i said i would'nt go back. Now that i have calmed down i realise that i have probably cut my nose off to spite my face, i dont know what came over me because i would normaly just say "oh ok then" lol

Not sure if all ASDAs are the same, in my local you can have whatever you like thrown on to it.

May be worth going back to give it another go.

If the counter girl's reaction is still the same then ask to see the section manager. If you complain expertly enough then you may get a free pizza out of it.

regarding the pizzas, my daughter bought one of the vegetarian ones, just covered with cellophane sp. She cooked it and when she sat down to eat, noticed something suspiciously like chicken. Her OH checked for her as not a veggie and said yes, it IS chicken.
She phoned A....a furious that her meal had been spoilt. But surprise surprise, they said go and get one from a pizza shop and bring in the receipt and other pizza and we will refund you. Which they duly did.
I must say I was a bit surprised, but happily so.

We have a nice lad on one till in our new Morrison's store across the road, (used to be Somerfield, closed to become Bugdens, then closed this summer and reopened after months of no shop as Morrisons) He has a disabled arm, he just holds it close to his side all the time but despite that, asks if you need help etc. The other day I felt bad as I handed him a ten pound note folded in four, didn't think but as I said sorry, he said it's ok and proceeded to unfold it holding it against his body and opening it out. I suppose if he has been disabled since birth or for a long time he has learned to cope but it makes you think twice about the way we take mobility for granted, doesn't it?

I prefer to pack my own shopping, even o.h. leaves me to do it if we shop together, as I am fussy about having bread or fruit squashed with heavier items put on top.

Totally agree with Jean and Kay..

Complain and ask to see someone in charge.!!

Son is a seasonal worker in As*a,has been since in Uni, he works on George, but sometime has to do the tills.
He is polite to customers but won't do their requested blurb ... but does help with packing where he can see it is necessary,as Sue said most of us can pack our own, I don't like anyone packing mine ! Even hubby lol. If there are a charity workers helping at the checkouts, I refuse but give them a donation..

What was the thread about ?
Oh Yes..disfatisfied customers, .....Do not leave the store without first seeing customer services and /or seeing a Supervisor or Manager...then leave your trolley if not happy.;)

We just have the one supermarket in town - S****bury's, which I frequent about every other day on my way home from work.
They put trainee managers in there - and this trainee is rubbish!! (no chanterley carrots!)
However, this thread has reminded me of the 'special needs ' lad in said supermarket who packs your bags - or at least throws the stuff into a bag - and who takes the eldely customers' bags to the bus stop/taxi rank for them.
I haven't seen him lately - must ask on Monday (won't be in tomorrow) whether he's on holiday.........if he's been sacked, I will complain - he's become an institution!

I'm not too keen on Asda since I was there today and the lady on the till said - as they always do - "would you like a hand packing?" I've always said "no" - since I was blessed with two working hands of my own.

Today, the cashier had a splint on her hand, but still she asked me if I wanted help with my packing.

I said that it would be a bit of a cheek if I said "yes", given her state of health, but she told me that she was under instructions to ask.

This isn't customer service, it's exploitation of staff.

Anyway, Morrisons opens here on Monday, so I'll be able to boycott Asda with no personal inconvenience. I do hope the lady with the splint gets a job there, too.

Same thing has happened here Sue, both in the indoor market and in town.

I know some foods are easy to make but what's wrong with buying ready made at times?

We had a fish market at our local shopping mall but they closed up not long ago. I don't know why as there were always people buying. Their goods were lovely and fresh. I think perhaps the centre management has put up the rent as a couple of shops have closed. Surely that's false economy for the centre owners to put up rents too high for the stores to afford. Three empty shops don't bring in any rent.

Just been into my local Asda to get a pizza and other shopping, they do a one called the sizzler which is too hot for me so asked the girl to put the chilli cheese on mine....."cant put that on your's" the girl said because i wasnt having all the other hot ingredients. I was furious so told her to scrap it. I dumped my trolley and left the store, The thing is....whats happened to the customer is always right? and they should be trying to keep their customers happy because theres a new Morrison's opening not that far away from them.......Rant over.
