As you say IGP, each to their own, I bought a sub to FMP and after checking a few military records I find I very rarely visit the site anymore. Certainly not to be worth renewing,

Yes each to his own, I suppose you get used to a particular site.

I guess it wasn't help when I fell out with FMP big time some years ago over their policy to cancel credits unless you bought some additional ones to stop them expiring. I was away at the time and lost a lot of money by not being able to buy a few more to keep them going.

Their loss, not mine.

Back in September I had an Email from FMP advising that as I had been a good customer of theirs buying credits, in the days before their subscription service, they were prepared to offer me a years subscription for just £100 instead of £149.90!

I emailed back with the message "Many thanks for your offer. However, it is still far too expensive. I will be happy to take it up on payment of £49.90 for a full years subscription. Please confirm this is acceptable."

Over two months later I eventually got a reply. No deal I'm afraid - too late anyway as I had already renewed with Ancestry.....!
