What a shocking thing to do, can't understand why anyone would want to be so cruel. Must have been a terrible shock to receive such a phone call.

A dreadful action by a - - - - person (can't put what I want to call them)
I hope that they are caught soon. Named and shamed and punished, as the man says "to the full extent of the law"

I hope that the families are receiving the support they need, to help them through the horrible aftermath of getting these phone calls. Even if they do know that this is not the way that such bad news is given, it must be really upsetting.

Also that other families are now forewarned.

There are some awful people around, who on earth could be so mean as to do that.

Hard enough for them to have their loved ones fighting miles from home, without that kind of sick call.

At least 3 families of Canadian servicemen /women serving in Afghanistan have received telephone messages from someone telling them that their loved one has been killed

Needless to say, the forces do NOT inform family members of a death or injury in this way ............... and the families do know that

But it is terribly upsetting for them

Our Defence Minister Peter MacKay is quoted as saying:-

"I can't tell you how deplorable and despicable an act this is. To put those families through that stress is just disgusting in every stretch of the word," Mackay told reporters in Ottawa.

"If we have sufficient evidence and, working with local police, if we can find those responsible they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

Who one earth would do such a sick thing???
