Well, as I am off the boards now, I am about to spend some of the £250 we received between us, and turn up the thermostat. The gritter wagon has just gone down the street, and that is good enough for me. The driver must go to Bermuda on his overtime money, in the spring, the money they must earn around here.
My owd Dad, gets the full £400 for his own house, as he is 90. He must make a profit out of it, because he does not have his heat on as much as I do. That will mean a few extra bottles of the old mountain dew in his trolly, when he goes up the Kerp tomorrow. Pity they have abolished the divvy.
Keep warm and safe everyone

There is another part of that, Ann in glos -

If your partner or civil partner gets Pension Credit, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance or income related Employment and Support Allowance for you both......

.............The payment will be made to the person who gets Pension Credit or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income related Employment and Support Allowance (born before 5 Jul 1950

The site reads as if it was £250 per household, regardless of who is entitled or who gets it in their account.

Hoever it depends on your age. Just copied this.

Anyone aged 60 to 79 and who lives alone, or is the only person in the house that qualifies, gets £250.

Those living alone aged 80 or over on September 27 get £400.

If you are 60 to 79 and live with another qualifying individual, you get £125 each. If one of you is 80 or more, they receive £275.

If there are two of you aged 80 or over you each get £200.

My mum and her OH both get the full amount, speak to them Joan, you should both be getting the £250 Joan,

Merlin it isnt £10, lets hope thats enuf to cover your bottle of whatever, if you can afford that as a pensioner then you dont need the heating allowance unlike some people.

I became a pensioner before OH - then when he reached that ripe age - DLA nicked half of my allowance and paid it to him. Doesn't matter because his half goes in the joint current a/c!!!!!! Usually goes direct to Bank.

Julia Report 25 Nov 2010 15:58

Ann, although the notification letter was addressed to the OH, the amount was credited to a joint account that we use just for pensions, which are credited in the two separate amounts.

Haven't had a thing so far. The £10 is the pensioners christmas box - has not increased since its introduction in the seventies. Would have bought a weeks groceries then and a bit - won't buy much now.

Mine went into the bank this morning, a couple of days after my pension.
At least I assume that´s what it is as I haven´t had a letter.
Can´t think of anyone else who would be paying me 250 pounds.

My mum had a letter saying it would be sent, when she didnt receive it she rang them, they had sent cheque to previous address, why??? they clearly did have her new address, never mind she received it in the end.

Same as you Joan, she normally has it paid into the bank.

Has anyone received theirs yet. We have. A couple of weeks ago we had a letter telling us that they would be sending it, and the following Monday when the pensions went into the account, it was there also.
Think we are going to need it with all this cold weather about already.
