Like every one else I can't find an Annie Ellen Jones born in Denbighshire.Would I be right in thinking Annie senior's maiden name was Davies?

If it is so then the birth I found on North Wales BMD in 1899 looks very interesting. There is a Birth listed of an Ann Ellen Davies who somewhat unusually in the Birth Indexes given on this Website,is given as child of Annie Davies. The Birth is given in the Abergele area of Denbighshire.

The GRO equivalent for this birth is Ann Ellen Davies,St Asaph District,Denbighshire,Jul-Aug-Sep Quarter 1899.Volume 11b,Page 310.

One thing to point out is that the Census entry does not mean that she was literally twelve months old.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

As far as birth control is concerned,I managed to get pregnant while breast feeding AND on the pill.

The only 100% way of not getting in the club is asparin.............You grip it between your knees!!

If the census states born Manchester this could be the birth registration because you had 6 weeks to register a birth so a late November or December 1900 could be registered in the 1st qtr of 1901.

Births Mar 1901 (>99%)

Jones Mary Louisa Manchester 8d 227.

Just because the 1901 gives Annie's age as 1 she could have been any age from 1 year to 23 months.

First and foremost - breastfeeding lessening the chances of pregnancy are by and large a myth. When pregnant with my first child I had to go to a Clinic for a Home Delivery Pack - next to me was a young pregnant mother who was going to birth her second child when the first was 9 mths old. Think I banished OH from bedrooom after birth - the thought terrified me!!! Hope this helps. Also have you found Annie's birth she may have been older than 1 year but less than 2 on census night.

looking for a part of my family i have found them in the 1901 cencus

William Jones 21
Annnie Jones 21
Annie Ellen Jones 1
Mary L Jones 3 Months

im having great difficulty locating the mother and sat here with a coffee watching the snow falling, something just seemed strange to me, ok the cencus was taken end of march 1901? and the baby is 3 months old then, great found her birth entry as the 4/4 of 1900 in chester not manchester as the cencus states, however if the baby went to full term and was delivered at 9 months gestation, that means that annie ellen was born and the mother got pregnant immedialtey after? well considering that bottle feeding was not widely avilable then, and we ladies know that breast feeding lessons the chances of becoming pregnant it just struck me as very weird on the dates, i still cant find a birth for annie ellen tho even using that theory
