Perhaps we should all put a 'random' word in every post we make? a 'signature word' lol that everyone can remember belongs to us if they want to do a search ;)

When I send or reply to a PM, I always include the URL for the thread it's about.

That was all wasted effort now -- the URL for every thread on the help boards has been changed, and the former links to those threads are now broken.

One more boulder thrown onto the road for us users.

It's really infuriating I agree Rose. I used to use advanced search when I had a reply to one of my messages and I didn't know what they were on about. They were soon relatively easy to spot.

Now, when I send a message, I type part of their heading into the subject line so that if they send a cryptic message back to me, I at least have a clue!

ps. the word 'help' is used in most posts!!

The search change that I am really peeved about is that it's no longer possible just to do a quick search of all of the boards at once -- that used to be possible from the main "community" boards list.

When searching for duplicate posts, one never knows what board they might turn up on! Searching the help boards individually is too much.

I suppose one can use the Advanced Search function, if it actually works these days.

I've tried "the" in the past. ;) I wonder about "and"??

Well i suppose, SRS, what it does do is prevent anyone from pulling up past threads by a specific person, with the intention of bringing up old arguments? But then again most will remember certain words used in them and use that as the 'keyword'....

"the" doesn't work btw lol

I have just tried looking for posts by author, which you could do before but now you need to add a "keyword" as well before it will search. So seems knowing who posted a thread of interest is no use unless you know at least one of the words they used exactly?
