Hi Ann,

There are loads up in the USA here....and boy do they go to town ...yesterday I saw a tree in a front garden decorated with flip flops that were somehow sprayed with glitter and in each flip flop were a light . hmmm different I thought but very effective .

Another tree in the garden had those swimming foam tubes cut in about 6 inch in length also sprayed with glitter . mined you these are on the beach houses !!!

I'm going to take a photo of them today.

Not yet, but some of the neighbours have. But yet again, they don't take them down from the previous year, just plug into the electric anytime from late October onwards. LOLOL

I've got the tree out of its box and put it in the living room, wanted to see where it will 'fit' here while I am still re-arranging the furniture. We'll probably decorate it on the 1st, though I usually wait till my birthday.

As it looks like I shall be unable to travel to Ireland as I usually do, I am having a massive sulk! So, no decs, no tree, no presents, etc. etc. Stiuff it! lol BC XX

No decorations up in our house yet, but there are three houses in the street with lots on their walls already, looking very festive. (One of them, like Julia, hasn't taken them down for two years, so they just plug and go.)

I don't normally decorate until a day or two before Christmas. but we have guests for the weekend before Christmas, so may have to do it earlier this year. I shall take heed of Mummo's warning when I send the butler up into the loft for the boxes. Quite why we have so many decorations, many which never get used, I don't know. It is just fun looking at them all and remembering where we lived when we bought them, or when the children made them at playschool or school, many years ago!

I think the snowy scene outside may prompt us to decorate early!

Have not had decs up since my dad came home from hospital. No room for tree as we have the bed in front room and things that were moved to accomodate it in other places.

A couple of years before I went shopping just before Christmas and saw a seven foot tree reduced.Well I pestered and pestered all over Christmas so ,on the first day of the sales,OH went off and bought me the £70 tree for £15.
It took up most of the front room but it shut me up for a bit!

Always do my tree gold and glass and add a few more decs every year.

Sorry to put a damper on things, but the only decorations in our house will be Christmas cards. We have not celbrated Christmas other than having our neighbour in for the day, since our son died 10yrs ago. Seems not worth it somehow. Belong to a family who dont visit or ask what we are doing for Christmas, and friends have a full life with grandchildren. We just have a quiet day and a good meal.
