Has anyone else heard anything about the craze that is going on, on Facebook, where you change your profile picture to one of your favourite cartoon character. A friend of mine has now put on her status the following. |

the NSPCC never actually set this up but they are happy for it to go ahead if it helps, but the rumour tht sick people have set it up is just that, a rumour set up to scaremonger n spoil it, |

It's just a bit of a laugh with a message about the NSPCC. I would have thought common sense would tell people that it's not set up by some monster group of paedophiles. Of course people need to be cautious about protecting their children but this whole hysteria about paedophilia is damaging because it's so misleading - children are and always have been more at risk from people they already know. I think it's far better to check with a site like snopes before adding fuel to the fire. |
