You need to click on the word 'Icon' Elizabeth, it's above the envelopes.
Then click on it again.
To get back to your normal list...click on the word 'Date'

looking at MY sent messages. if you click on Icon, I think two times,
all the icons of sent messages that have not been read appear together, regardless of date........I was amazed to find two and a half pages of them!!

Unread.....some going back to 2005!!
LOL

so THEY went into the bin, where they belong!

Hi I have sent them a message on this, which I thought was an email I'm a novice.It is their choice which is wonderful that we live in a time when we all have that! The envelopes are still purple

Mike ..This is a long term problem which makes people cross but what you may need to remember is that some people may have left the site or dont do their tree now some may have stopped the Private message sending an e-mail to their e-mail addy so dont know they have messages or some people may have even passed away

Very difficult for those who want to contact them but its their choice ....

Mike, is the envelope beside the message still purple? If it is they havent looked at it. If it is clear then they have, but as has been said on other threads there are many reasons that people dont look at/answer their messages.

BTW, I presume you mean you have sent them a PM (private message) through GR, rather than an email.

Hi how else can I get in touch with people once I have emailed them? Some I emailed back in June/ July time, I haven't asked to see their family trees it just seems no one opens their emails.
