Plum slate looks good, we use it and it looks nice wet or dry also easier to see cat poops if they use it or any other sort, than on shingle type covering.

Hi Puss, white might be alright if not in too much shade or dark area of garden. Ours discoloured badly (slimey green) but were in shade most of the day.

We have Thames Valley gravel on our front patch. It is a light golden colour and stays nice. Yuo can rake it over to get a different cleaner surface from time to time.

If you get gravel, get it large enough! The time before last OH got sacks of a very fine gravel, they got stuck into every kind of shoe and then fell out all over the carpet and into the vacuum only with luck.. He got larger stuff last time (which I can't push my shopping trolley through but that's another story)

Trouble is, pussy cats think it's a giant litter tray, we spread "silent roar "pellets before and after laying chippings to put them off !

I think it might crack after a while Puss as ours is in a decorative grass garden area so not walked on often, only to do any maintenance on plants etc.

There is some good stuff made from recycled car tyres so black bits but it's a bit smelly (rubber smell)

I personally wouldn't use white, it would look like a huge grave lol and would probably discolour quickly altho we haven't used any so not speaking from experience only guesswork.
