Please could anyone help me decipher trade abbreviations on a 1841 census look up I have just done. In the trade/profession column are the abrreviations 'MS' or 'FS'.

I would be very grateful if anyone could explain this (for future use or for tohers) as it will help me confirm I have found the right ancestor.

Many thanks in advance

William

MS = male servant; FS = female servant

Thank you very much. I am now banging my head on the desk, how easy when you know the answer.

I guess we are just not used to servants these days. My thanks again Potty.
