If anyone has not come across these books they are ideal for anyone interested in social history, set in the East End of London but applicable anywhere. They are true memories of early to mid years of last century

There is a trilogy available too:
The Midwife Trilogy: Call the Midwife, Shadows of the Workhouse, Farewell to the East End

Amazon has tehse and they are pretty quick on delivery and usually free P&P too
