Hi All!

I'm trying to find some resources that will help me trace my German Ancestry. I'm not afraid to admit I'm a beginner at this so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

PS I'm looking to trace the name Oecken before the moved to England.

Hi Christopher

It is possible that you may find some ( not many) records on familysearchlabs.org

Thanks for your replies. I am a basic member of Ancestry but do have my family tree uploaded on their site. I have also checked familysearch.org and have come across some names matches for Oecken but I have not been able to confirm any connection. My Great Great Great Grandad, Johann Casper Oecken was born in Westphalia, Prussia in about 1837. Thanks for the links and info, I will give it a go!
