Yes it comes to us all. My mum used to do the same, go through all 5 of our names before she got the correct one. I have to admit it used to annoy me, and guess what....I have now turned into my mother.

I have an awful memory for faces (and names) Many, many years ago a woman walked up to me and started chatting about my job, asking how I was getting on etc.
I chatted to her for maybe 15 minutes, my brain working overtime, with absolutely no idea who she was. I wracked my brains for months trying to place her until about 2 years later when I woke up in the middle of the night with the answer.
I'd originally met her briefly at a kid's birthday party when I first started working as a Nanny. The second time was 5 or so years later.

That is one we have not attempted yet. I think it could be done but have not thought it through as yet.

He would not bother to tell me who he had seen. When he first came home from hospital everybody had the same name. Now THAT was confusing!

I had visions of your garden gnome on the train, wheeling along the aisles . . . .

Sharron

Sharron Report 12 Dec 2010 13:58

I don't know who it was. It was somebody he knew who I have never met.

He has done this several times. "Guess who I met today."

Then I have to go through everybody it might be,like Mrs Doyle on Father Ted, only to be told the name of somebody I have never heard before.

Garden Gnome couldn't do it anyway. He would have forgotten who it was before I had finished trying. Then he would get the name wrong.

Oh Sharron, your family should be on that programme The Family on Channel 4, you would get all the viewers. I just love your attitude too, "Next week I am going to challenge him to play I Spy without using the alphabet!" pmsl
You know, you could write great comedy scripts lol

Never a dull moment eh?

It has happened again.Partner has come in and invited me to guess who was on the train. We covered all probabilities, Fidel Castro, King of Tonga, Kylie Minogue and our paper boy, and again it was somebody I don't know.

Next week I am going to challenge him to play I Spy without using the alaphabet!
