Last week I bought a nice jade green jumper in Marks. Today I wished to wear it. OH had put it away as he has to with my clothes. Not hanging up in any of wardrobes, not on jumper shelves, not in any of the drawers.

He even searched in his d.room where he has Christmas goodies stacked. Nope. Tonight as I walked past wardrobe (there is a gap of about 3" between them and a row of chests of drawers) and there, there in the gap was a bag, a Marks bag with the green jumper and a sweater for son. Denies all knowledge. Now I know Father Christmas is not due until 24th - do you think the elves have arrived early?

Don't get me started Chris!

Last week o.h. wanted to get two books for his son and d.i.l. a cookery one for son and a Mother and Baby one for New Mum d.i.l, their choices on their Christmas list! Get them on line says I, oh no, can't do that, don't like buying on line says o.h.
So when I drag myself out shopping last Weds feeling rough as I have had a bad cold/flu for 11 days and no voice for a lot of the time, he says Can you pick up those books for me in the city - he is working lots of 12 hr shifts to cover other people's days off for shopping etc!!!!!!!
I struggled round several bookshops etc and no luck with either book, had little time to do what I needed to do because of the tour of book shops. I got home with nothing and said he would have to go somewhere else himself to get the books. Oh never mind says the dope, I will order them online!!!

I had to answer the door to one delivery man on Saturday and complained that the corner of the packaging looked dented so wanted it recorded, in case book was damaged. Delivery man says no provision for reporting damage. I didn't want to refuse it as o.h wanted to be able to gift wrap book for the next day when he was seeing his son and d.i.l and new baby. I had to stay away because of my germs, they all got together at o.h.'s dad's house before the son, and baby and d.i.l. went to see his Mum and have dinner with her for her 60th birthday. When he opened the packaging book was bent at the corner, but he bent it back and gift wrapped it!

O.h.'s son is back this way today for the last time before Christmas so o.h. wanted the other book delivered so he could wrap that and pass it on in time for Christmas. Deliver man couldn't have rung the bell properly as I didn't hear him at 11am on Monday so book was left with a neighbour who promptly went off to work on a late shift traindriving. I told o.h. I would put a note in his door asking if he could pop the book over yesterday after 3pm as I was trying to get some sleep and shake off this cold. Found a note saying he was on late shift again and leaving at 2.30 so would be home Weds am if o.h. wanted to pick up book.
O.h. comes home and before I can tell him I have asked neighbour in yet another note if he would text me when he gets in just after midnight and I will get book then, o.h. goes ballistic and says I shouldn't have said 3pm as a deadline for delivery by neighbour. Never mind that I really need to rest and get this cold gone,.
Luckily I noticed the neighbour's van draw up and managed to pop out and get the book as he got home so now o.h. can wrap it in the morning and pass it on to his son.
O.h. was worried the book might be the wrong one, did he really expect if it was/is another one would be delivered by today anyway, that one took 5 days!
Men!

He has a day off today to go shopping, he has to buy cards to write and send and get gifts for his father and stepmum. Told him not to buy 5 boxes of chocolates for me this year as he did one year when he couldn't think what else to get me, I would rather have the money and spend it as I chose. He just has no imagination to buy gifts. So boring!

Now, now - what's all this then?

In the home, females are management & males are labour - until the former goes into labour, at which point the latter panics & mismanages everything.

A few days before my birthday and our anniversary OH will inform me he is going out to buy a card (now why he has to tell me I do not know). Upon his return he will deposit the said card in its pink striped bag (always goes to the same shop) on top of sideboard and there it will sit for 1,2,3,4 or even 5 days when in desperation I will ask are you going to put that away!!!

sylvia, that is hilarious but not so unusual, my oh would do the same. he just would see a bit of paper and not notice what sort it was. if i then grumbled he would say i was making a fuss as its only going to be ripped up and then thrown away, but thats not the point is it?

i bet your oh probably hasnt noticed its birthday paper! should have gone to specsavers lol.

Well mine went out yesterday at 11am to meet his son and pass on the book, (it was the right one) nicely wrapped in Christmas paper (he does always make an effort with wrapping, pretty bows and twirly ribbon, the lot) and then he went on to the city where he shopped or browsed. He finally got home around 7pm with a few groceries I had asked him to pick up and expected me to do dinner, said he thought it was too early to bring home fish and chips! I made him wait till I was ready to cook and dished up his meal at nearly 8.30pm lol
Fair dues, he did bring me flowers to cheer me up, lovely purple ones and white ones, can't remember what they are called but pretty, no perfume tho.
He will be off to work again today 12 hr shift but wants to take the car, now how am I supposed to get out and do my errands? Snow forecast and I need to go visit my son and do lots of shopping, not doing it on the bus that's for sure!
Oh well, I suppose there is always Friday pm when he gets back from work if the roads aren't too bad.

One way would be,drop him off at work, use the car all day, fetch him back from work, picking up Fish and Chips on the way home. Problem solved,**M**.:o)>

My Oh is good at going to buy presents, sometimes makes a mistake but his choice is usually good. I do usually give him a list for guidance. However come the time to wrap it is. "Is there anyw rapping paper? Where is the sellotape? Are there any labels? etc etc. I now pack all my presents then leave the paper for him to use in a conspicuous postition on the spare bed. As I said to him, I do everything but actually wrap them!!!

Merlin, for many reasons I go to bed when he gets up and sleep during the morning, and I am not going to start chauffering him about, he got rid of second car and started cycling for his own health reasons and anyway he goes in at 5.30am and not finished till 6pm tonight so I am not fitting my day round taxi driving, even if I was alert enough to drive at the early hour (late for me lol) He made an apptmt to see the dental hygienist for this morning at 11.am knowing full well he was on the early shift, he never gets the apptmt at the same time as the check up for some stupid reason, so he drove in for 6am, came back to dentist at 11 and then called in home to drop something off, and then woke me to ask if he could use the car as it was very windy and wet. Obviously I couldn't really say no, as it's his car so he then drove back to work. It was snowing big flakes of snow a little while ago but nothing is settling as the ground is wet, hope it doesn't freeze later or the road will be treacherous. I am not going out but will get on with more card writing and other chores, he will be home by midday tomorrow so if the roads are ok I will go out then and get back late with fish and chips lol

We solve the problem by not having Christmas gifts, but generally buy something we both want soon after.
