Hi I recently found a relative of mine and at the age of 8 he was classed on the census as an inmate. Obviously too young to be in prision. I tried to view others in the household and got the same result as my initial search? I was wondering if maybe he could have been in hospital, the workhouse or some institution. Has anyone come accross this before? |

Hi Patricia, yes it would have been a hospital, workhouse or even a school. All classed as institutions. |
