We eat it, but a small amount as a 'taste' on Christmas day. Ours is made by our lovely neighbour each year. If we are on our own it is usually kept until daughter and son in law visit in the New Year, this year we will be taking it to daughters.

We eat it! It doesn't all get eaten for Xmas dinner. Someone usually doesn't want/like it. The left over's get 'picked at' over the subsequent week............saves cooking - lol

I just love it and it has to be with Brandy sauce..doesn't matter how full I am! And I am not sure if this is a Celtic tradition, BUT (prepare to have heart attack!) I have often had slices of it on Boxing Day, fried with bacon, sausage, etc Deliciious! BC XX

I absolutely adore it. Used to have a spoonful on Christmas day, just to say I had had some, no matter how full. However, because I cannot eat as I used to do, and want to have abit of everything on me dnner plate, this year, to make room, I am making 2 individual trifle type thingys, which are clemetines with choc orange sponge soaked in Tia Maria, custard and then cream, topped with roast cobnuts and chocolate flakes.
Used to go to a pub that served Christmas Cake with Ice Cream in the middle of August.
There is no hope for the Nollaig old bird. She must have strong guts.LOLOL
