Hi, i do collect medals, but like you i always try and find the family they came from, (part of the fun of collecting) i do buy them but would be willing to let the family have them for what i buy them for, think thats only right.

I wouldnt ask for any money nither. I just get the enjoyment of finding the info and then hoping to find family who it came from.

Thats how my dad got them when he use to do house clearance as a job.

Yes i bet it is a good feeling when you renite something to who's family it belongs to.

I will let everyone know if i do find the familes there belong to

That is a lovely thing to do, Hazel.

Twice I have bought books from our flea market, for just a small amount and managed to reunite them with the family of the person who had received them as school prizes, or the like back in the early 1900s. I suppose these special books get removed by house clearance people and then sold on to the dealers. It is a good feeling to pass them on. (I don't ask for any payment.)

Good luck in your quest.

Thank you for that, I was told that i was mad to do it.

But if someone found any to do with my family would love them to try and find me.

I am going to carry on looking for WW1 medals family in new year.I am hoping that they would love to have it. If not will give it to a museum. Same with the other 2. As just couldnt throw something like tem in the bin.

That had a name on it would you try and find out who that person was?

I found 3 medals in a box that was my late dads.(dont belong to our family) One was WW1 medal. I found out that the man died, i also found lot of info on him and his family, Woluld now like to find family that i could pass it onto.

The other 2 are for Safety driving from 1929-1932, other one 1934-1938. Look to see if he died in WW2 but didnt.

I have google for the safety drivening found a website, have emailled them in hope they can help me.Just waiting for reply.

So would you do the same?
