Anyone else fed up with being stuck indoors?

I have not been out since Friday.

I do realise that in a way this is fortunate for me as I don't have to battle the ice, and I am not bored as I have done lots to my scrap books. However, I do hope the sun shines as promised tomorrow and we can at least get to the local shops. We don't go out when it is icy as have no wish for broken limbs.

A stressful time as well because I can see our Christmas arrangements going up the creek, we are supposed to be in Hampshire for christmas.

Ann, I sympathise, I really do. Not been out since last Thursday. It is called 'cabin fever' in these parts.
Hope you manage to get to Hampshire for Christmas, but just in case, have you got contingency rations at home.

We have a small duck, a small piece of gammon and a turkey drumstick in the freezer. We are the holders of the Christmas pud, we have mince pies, wine, gin, whisky, amaretto. Oh yes and potatoes and parsnips and tins of sweetcorn, loads of cheese, pate, crisps and nibbles. (we were taking stuff to daughter). We wont starve but all the pressies will be in the wrong place.

How awful! I really hate being stuck inside and recently when I was ill, it drove me up the wall, but I am lucky in that M & S, Tescos, and Waitrose are all about five minutes away, and if I slip and slide very carefully, I can get my bottles..I mean shopping without too much hassle. It also helps if I take my dog and go mush! mush!

For the first time ever, I shall not be travelling to Ireland, but I am keeping my fingers crossed for you Ann and anyone else who will be travelling.

thanks BC, I think it is more stressful not knowing than not going if you see what I mean. We are all adults so will cope, it is not the end of the world if we don't go, but it will be disappointing.

Hi all, we ventured out today down to Southsea to do some shopping, popped into waitrose, John Lewis and Debenhams, was nice to get out and this afternoon we had rain it has washed a lot of the snow away :))).
Ann l do hope the weather improves for you so you can travel.
BC. do be careful when buying your drink..... sorry l mean shopping, lol.

Ann, I never get Cabin Fever.
I cannot get out without the help of my son, but I am NEVER bored or desperate to get out.
Although when I do get out I enjoy it so much.

This week though started out very badly... and you all know why.
It's Christmas, and the roads are bad, I need help to get out, I have all the things to do that we have... and I am feeling *neither use nor ornament*.

It is FREEZING out there, so what am I even worrying about?

Chin up girls, next week it will be all over, and the time will pass with or without our help.

l'm ok at the moment, been to work this morning then to visit Jean (monmouth) for a quick cuppa and choccie biscuit:o))
Had to shut the shop this afternoon, not enough staff:o((
Should be going to Birmingham tomorrow but doubt it now:o((

I went to work on Saturday and slithered my way in and home but now I'm finished until the new year.

Today I had to go to the dentist so we called at Asda on the way home to get milk etc in case the snow closes in again.

It's the funeral of a close friend on Wednesday and we're hoping the weather and the roads are clear enough for us and our other friends to go.

I hate this weather and the uncertainty it brings.

I hate it too. I suppose we are just not used to it. I hope that if it is likely to repeat in following years we see some action by the government in investing money in snow clearing equipment. Although goodness knows where the money will come from.

Evening ladies :) I did go out today just up the village for bird food, D has a plastic sledge we bought a couple of days ago and it is brilliant for the shopping! Then went to 'Narnia' lol...D has found a small hill not far from us to sledge down and wanted to show me...it was magical, a clearing surrounded by larch trees all covered in snow, branches swooping down like cathedral arches...wonderful :)

Not so good is that I won't get to see my brother who hoped to drive over as usual before Christmas, and that my nephew is having to detour on his trip home from Aus', having got to Bangkok he now has to get to Zurich for a flight, hopefully to City airport....as his long haul direct to Heathrow was cancelled.

Hope everyone on here can get safely to where they need to be this week,

You are better off indoors than out in your car. I had to take my dad for a pre op at hospital today and the roads here in Merseyside are treacherous. Not one main road we travelled on was gritted. Took three times as long to arrive, wheel spinned too many times, hospital car park was not gritted! Was behind an accident on the way home, guy in a hurry, I mean an idiot in a hurry overtaking lost control! Patience, patience please!! I have parked my car up and will not go near it again until the roads are safe. Had to have a lie down in a darkened room when I got home!

We have no need to go anywhere except hospital appointments until after Christmas. Food, bird food, cat food all in stock. Enough flour to make bread if needed. Poor birds were trying to find the food, but as fast as OH put it out it was covered with snow this afternoon.
