actually, not too dark,
it didnt start till 6:30 am-ish......

i got up at 645 and saw that it HAD started..........

so went back to bed........

So it's the shortest day of the year, and also the longest night. This year it coincides with a lunar eclipse which will also make it the darkest night of the year.
Unlike a solar eclipse, which lasts for only a few minutes the lunar eclipse will last for about 3 and a half hours. No specialised equipment needed to see it ..it'll just be dark !
This is the first time in 327 years that the lunar eclipse will coincide with the longest night.

Me I was tucked up in bed sleeping !

Mind take heart this does mean that the nights now start getting lighter
