Jude, your gadgets seem to all have a death wish! first your freezer, now your cooker. Have you tried asking on freecycle?

I hope it lasts out for you ok.
I used to be a gasfitter and turned up to repair a leak where the gas had been turned off all weekend.
The guy had the electric iron wedged upside down in a drawer to heat the baby’s saucepan of milk on, now that’s what I call ingenuity in a crises!

I'm still waiting patiently for my new (calor gas) Rangemaster, should be here soon. Then boy am I going to have fun taking a sledgehammer to the god-awful lousy electic abomination I've been struggling along with.

lasts till after christmas..... the grill is now dangerous to use. Our gas central heating man tried to sort it and said it was ok for now, but since then its got worse, so just praying the main oven does'nt die on me too, as l have 4 for christmas dinner and 8 for 27th Dec.
