We had my friends dads shed as our ranch, One day we decided to decorate it and found a tin of red gloss paint. We painted the bench the doors and even my friends sledge which was our pretend bed. We also painted our clothes and shoes (by accident) and by were we in bother. We also had the supports her dad used to put his woodwork on I think they were called tressels, these were our horses. About 4 years ago I went to stay with my friend who was living in Spain. She had sold her house out there and at this time was looking for another property in a differant area of Spain. Well my holiday was up a mountain in a two berth caravan with 3 dogs 1 cat and my friend. It was just like being in the ranch again and the 60 years just fell away. Elaine.

Buying a packet of five Weights for 9d (about 4p) and a penny book of matches, and choking nearly to death with my first puff in the cinema.

Wading in a mucky stream and coming out with legs covered in leeches.

We used to pack mud into empty shoe polish tins, batter them a bit, and play Hopscotch.....

We used to make a tent out of a clothes horse and a sheet and have a great time playing in it. Used a bent tree trunk as a galloping horse.

Like when two gas masks made goalposts. Or we used to spin round and round till we fell over (or died laughing.)

Happy days
