1810 Hoylake Lifeboat Disaster

This morning in icy conditions travelled from Southport to West Kirby for the memoral service to remember Fishermen/Lifeboat People of Hoylake who tragically lost their lifes 200 yrs to this day.. Including my 5 x great grandfather Joseph Hughes aged 38 years, his brother Richard Hughes aged 36 years and Richard’s son Thomas Hughes aged 16 years ..... Also remembered were John Bird aged 40 years, his sons Henry Bird aged 18 years and John Bird aged 16 years, and nephew Henry Bird aged 18 years |

Bless all those who were lost and also give thanks for today's brave crews of the RNLI who continue to provide sterling service for those in peril on the sea. |
