If it sounds too good to be true the it is...!

If it comes thru the post then bin it. If it is a phone call then tell them to b----r off or blow your whistle down the phone if it is an email then report as scam.

Unfortunately, despite the warnings there are plenty more who continue to be taken in.

You're right Emma it is a cruel scam. The senders really don't care at all who they take money from or the circumstances of those that are not aware enough to realise that it is just another scam

Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

Wendy love it. i can see how old people (I'm not young)
fall for this. My sil father used to get junk mail informing
him that he had won a fortune, wanted to send his bank details
etc to them but fortunately sil saw to it. It is a cruel scam.

OH had an email informing him that he had won a small fortune (can't remember how much now) and to ring a certain number. He rang it and a indian sounding man was ssooooooooo enthusiastic for him and told him ALL he had to do was send £50.00 for admin charges and his cheque would be on it's way to him within two days.

OH told the guy that he was so pleased with his good luck that he wanted to share his winnings with him so if he would just pay the £50.00 for him he could then keep half of the winnings as without his email OH would have had nothing at all.

We have never heard from them again.

Hiya GCCIT, I did check out on Snopes and
remember a scam about 2years ago from a
Spanish Lottery we had supposedly one, funny
thing we had just come back from Spain a week
before this popped through the letter box. I will
check out that site but as I said earlier If it's too
good to be true etc. lolx

OH received a letter this am stating he has won a few
hundred thousand on Euromillions Commonwealth
of Nations Online Lottery. Went on Snopes and found
nothing on them. The phrase If it's too good to be true
it probably is comes to mind. Anyone else lucky!!!
