The best and the worst.

What are yours?

My best has to be 2001 the year Hubby bought me nothing !! We were absolutely run off our feet with the pub and when we closed xmas day I was cooking for 36 waifs and strays. So xmas eve ..well the early hours of xmas day morning when we finally managed to crawl into bed, OH announced that he hadn't bought me anything as he thought I would like to chose my own engagement ring.

The worst are hard to chose from

As a 17yr old runaway manning phones for suicides
The year our friend committed suicide on xmas eve
The lonely ones
The 1st xmas without Dad

All of the above had good points tho' and in no way could be classed as a bad xmas compared to other peoples.
So I reckon I've had it pretty good really mind there was the year I finished work at 4pm and went to the parents for xmas dinner (I was single then) only to find that they started dinner and by then had reached the pud stage, so I skipped starters and pud to find that they had all gone to sleep ! Me I did the washing up and went back to the pub ! lol What was worse they did the same the next year also ......lol

Ahhh xmas how joyful !

Hi Uzzi

The worse Christmas, well the first one without my Mum in 2005, and last year when my Dad was in Hospital. He died in Feb this year but reunited with his Family and Friends.
This Christmas should have been the worse but wasnt. I know Dad is at peace.

My Best, the 1st Christmas we had when the children were born and one when I was a child and had a tiny tears and sindy doll.
This was in the 1970s when Children had a "main" present and little presents.
I have also enjoyed Christmases when I have been on duty at work in the past.

Merry Christmas

Teresa xx

Merry Christmas to you also Teresa, yes I think the 1st after we have lost a parent is often so very hard.
I do remember the 'main' present and fill ins. never had Tiny tears (too old) but did have a sindy doll lol
I guess any xmas when planning for you 1st offspring must be fun mmm or a nightmare lol
Have a good New year

The best..........wow there have been many, but l remember one, was it 1962/63 when we had some really bad snow and l got a pogo stick and was so sad that l couldn't go out in the garden to have a go and next thing l know my Dad had gone out and cleared all the drive so l could use my pogo stick, bless him
The worst..........has to be last year / this year, last year when OH broke his back and neck in the November and was in hospital all over Christmas and the new year and this year the first without my lovely Mum and my Grandson ( aged 20 ) really did spoil our day, won't say why but going to be hard to ever forgive him.
But me Ed, son and daughter were together so some sad moments but some smiles also.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year, x
