I agree with Brian, an absolute waste of time, i tried for the two freebie hours continuously and could not get into their census & BMD records at all - half the time a maintinance message appeared . I should have gone to the pub with the lads !!!!

Absolute waste of time - as a promotion this was a very poor decision by GR.
Access to records virtually impossible except. I note, when I hit the upgrade button and my goodness what a speedy response! No thanks Gr - back to Ancestry UK!

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year - well almost everyone except the BI at GR who decided that only two hours access would be available on the 31st December. I logged-on and in two hours only managed to read 2 images(1911 Census).
Not one of GenesReunited better ideas as a large number of subscribers would obviously like to access the records but it was so slow and every operation took ages. Please try better next time.

Why do people need to offer to do any look ups?? there are plenty of people able to do that every day on the boards without having to wait for a free two hours

what a lovely gesture. I may be wrong but I've never known GR to do anything like this before. I certainly shan't look a gift horse in the mouth, roll on tomorrow :)

As we are in Start Your Family Tree Awareness week, we thought we would give everyone the opportunity to access our records and see what information they provide to help grow your tree. We appreciate that Plat...inum members have already paid for the records - by letting everyone add more people to their trees from the records, Platinum members will benefit if a name they have been searching for appears in other members' trees. We are confident the site will be accessible to all and won't crash!

I have had continuous membership for around 5 years, but I haven´t had an e mail either.
Presume that means I can´t take advantage of the offer.

So the people who do look ups will be redundant for those two hours then? Then it could take two hours to work out how to use it, I think in the 6 months I paid to use GR records I used it twice.
It was very good of them to send me the email but I wont bother using it all the same

If it does crash will the people who pay to use the records be annoyed as I was when FMP crashed during the world cup?? At least when Ance*try went down they gave the subscribers an extra day free

I wonder if any GR member can look at them, even if they have not received the email? If not, then it is discrimination! Perhaps they are going to offer it to the rest of us at another time? I will try to look at it anyway and if it wont let me I will SCREAM.

I couldn't beleive my e mail that I got from the Genes team, that they are offering 2 hours free looks up on all their records, brill I thought then I read the time and date, guess what I be working those 2 hours so I'll miss it.

All I can say is please please will you do it again, but lets not wait for so long.
