Could it have been spelt incorrectly? I struggled with my gt-gt-gt-grandfather and his family. I could find him, in the same house, in the 1841, 1861 and 1871 census but not on the 1851. I tried various members of the family but to no avail. I then tried spelling his surname slightly differently and there he was all the time - the enumerator had spelt it incorrectly. |

Please can anyone help. Why can I not find any of my Oeschger family on the 1901 Census though I know where they lived? Even just putting the surname and no Christian names the Genes site comes up with the Oops message. I do not understand it. |
