I have found it is easier to order from the local Register Office and to stipulate (in case of marr) father of bride must be and also for birth father/mother must be then there is less risk of wrong certs. Local office will refund but GRO will not take notice of these stipulations (or so I have found) and will issue anyway. The only two wrong certs I have had were the one and only time I ordered from GRO just a few months ago.

Also as Ann has a middle name, with luck it will be easier to trace her in earlier census', her birth shows on Freebmd with the middle name.

As that marriage above was before the 1911 census you should be able to find them on it, you might also like to try looking at Births on freebmd... if you put surname Webb and mothers name Leadbetter you will find there are several children who 'may' be theirs ... ( mothers maiden names are shown after 1911)

As SRS has said the other names are a different couple's marriage...

you will see that on Freedbmd there are usually two or more marriages listed on the same page.

You can order the marriage cert using those details direct from the GRO ( which is the cheapest way and is also online ordering if wished) that will provide you with the fathers of bride and groom and occupations .

AGAIN thank you !!
been on BMD and searched for - enoch webb marrage to ann leadbeater .
and got following result :-
LEADBEATER Ann sheffield 9c 573
NEWTON Blanche sheffield 9c 573
SYMONS Horace sheffield 9c 573
WEBB Enoch sheffield 9c 573

ALL dates match up perfect , but are the other names mother of bride and father of groom , as i think "enoch's" father was called horace. ????

thank you for your response "rose",
i have looked into all three sites and the first two seem a bit confusing with the 'credits and subscriptions' plumped for "gr" as this was the cheapest to get started (again).
could you tell me what 'BMD' is tho' ???
again thank you for your reply .

Steven, many people on here are very happy to do searches on the census' and other records ( I'm on Ancestry so happy to look at their records if you wish) .

I would suggest you make as much use of free sites like Freebmd, and then if you wish to do most of the searching yourself ( which is the fun bit really) then try out the free trial on Ancestry ( 2 weeks , as long as you cancel in time there is no charge at all ) you can certainly get a lot of the groundwork done in that time and see if you like the site also. If not you could then try Find My past...some prefer one over the other. I find GR expensive for the records they hold .

what is the best way to find relatives , is it pay per view or subcribe.
would people do searches for me ? or is that rude?
