On our local radio news from about 11.00 this mornig, the actor Pete Postlethwaite has died, after a long illness in a Shropshire hospital, aged 64.
He was the brass band conductor in Brassed Off, amonst other things.

he only lives round the corner from me often saw him in local super market does anyone know why he wasnt very old was he ? he didnt look it x

Puss, the OH seems to think he heard on his car radio this morning that it was cancer. So sad, so very sad.

Pussercat, I think it was the result of Cancer which he had for a considerable time.Very Sad, as has been stated he was a very good and versatile Actor.**M**.

oh bless him i know he drank in a very quiet village pub in winstastow i believe, i expect they will have some kind of celebrating his life how sad xxxx

No one is safe from Cancer - I hope one day there will be more in the way of cures.

He was a really good actor and suited many roles and far too young to die.

May he rest in peace now.
