Margaret I was going to add to your thread on general, that if you would like me to look on Ancestry military records I can do so, if you have a birth year and location it will help.

Ann, Margaret has rec' an email from GR (there seem to be some going out) stating there are records for this person in WW1 but the link doesn't actually 'link' to anyone...a glitch i think?

Hello Rose,

Thanks I thought that may be the case, did not realise she had a thread on general also.

i also received an email from GR telling me that they had found a poss relative of mine in WW1 death records and to click on the link to "view matches". When I did that I got a message saying "oops, no matches" so just what is GR playing at?

If it involved a date of birth, then change the date by a year or so and it may come up; they're doing the same with the birth records telling you there's matches then when you click there's none until you change the date...assuming you have a Circa for the DOB.
