`experiences in what i thought were similar standards of hotels.

I took mum to stay with a friend of mine on friday then to a bed and breakfast sat as a break as she is finding it so hard without dad, as planned my friend was great and we had a pleasent night , 2nd night as we were already in the town we popped over the road to the travel lodge it was freezing in there, i pressed the bell 20 min later a scruffy looking woman poked her head round the door and said what do u want, i said a twin room please, she said we dont do twin its a double with a bed settee so i said fine i asked how much she said 57.00 but if you want to book you will have to phone up!!!!!!!!!!1

couple of hundred yards away premier inn 2 pound cheaper exellent customer service , warm and smelled really fresh and clean and they could see i was using sticks they couldnt do enough for us food was basic but presented and tasted nice anyone else had similar experiences question not debate lol x

On our last visit to the UK we stayed in a number of Travelodges and found them to be clean - especially the bathrooms. They were also very welcoming. In one place we went to the Travelodge was full and the receptionist rang around a few places until she found somewhere for us to stay. We have never booked ahead and have always just walked in and asked for a room.
Must have been bad luck.

You should make a complaint, you might get vouchers to use elsewhere so could go away again!

I wasn't that impressed with the Best Western place we stayed at for o.h.'s son's wedding, the reception was held there so we thought it best to stay on the spot so no driving after drinking etc - 44 miles from home too - but despite paying about £180 for three nights with breakfast, there were several things that could have been improved on.

I think it's the luck of the draw sometimes.
