What a tragedy! So many people made homeless and all their worldy goods destroyed. I have some experience of floods, having been flooded up to the 4th step of the st.airs twice in one winter But we had warning that the river was rising and were able to save everything by putting things upstairs or piling the cooker and fridge on cupboards. We lost the floor covering and had a lot of cleaning to do. The people in Brisbane will suffer much more than that. I wonder too, what has happened to all the animals in the region. It will be a huge financial burden on the country and insurance companies will not be able to cope with the claims |
