He would have had a discharge document/book and that would give some useful info. Have you checked to see if in personal effects? If you were born whilst he still serving it might be that his regimental number etc is given on your FULL birth cert. My father's data shown on my birth cert. Hope this helps |

Sorry, didn't even realise the other services did National Serice, he was in the Army. He became a Corporal and was a P.T. Instructor. I also know that he served in Germany, I know this because of some of the stories he used to tell. Don't know if any of this is of any use. Thank you to Robert and Kathleen. |
