Can anyone who is more experienced than I am help me in where to look for my father's first marriage. I know his wife's name and date of birth. I have checked the overseas marriages which is a possibility as my father lived in Bahrein for a while and I have started to look at the possibility of her being married before and therefore not using her maiden name but still nothing. Any ideas?

Could they have married in Ireland/Scotland

the list is endless and not all overseas marriage will be in searchable online records thats the trouble.

Was the lady English.Irish.Scots or other.
It would help you if there are any children born in UK.

Sometimes the first name you know a person can actually be their middle name, or the surname can be mis spelt.
Obviously you won't want to put the details on an open thread, but if you would like to send me a message giving me the details, I will have a look for you
