morning!
my friend is filling out her passport and is asked for her parents marriage details.
my friends only knows that her father is adam vernon, mother jennifer (nee ?) and that they married 1985 st barnabus (sp?) in 1985.
can any one tell me if she really has to to have the full marriage details?
i said i would try and help her, but at the end of the day she would have to buy the marr. cert to get the full marriage date.
i think that she needs the passport quite quickly.
any suggestions please?

May be a couple of reasons...one or other parent born outside UK, Change of name...

If you look here, it will give the reasons:

hi shirley,
reading my answer to you again, it seemed a bit silly. thats what comes of answering messages whilst you are rushing to get off to work.
ofcourse she must have had her birth certificate with her, she would have to send a copy off with the application form, wouldnt she! dohhhhhh!
what i meant in the first message was that she hadnt TOLD me her mothers maiden name, just given me her married name.
anyway the problem is all sorted, she rang the passport office and they said just to put 1/1/1985 for the date and they would sort it from there.
thanks again to all who helped out.
