I haven't had a hot match e mail alert since they let us know they have improved them. Maybe we just don't get the alerts any more.

have not had any since before christmas but then i realy look at them i find they are a waste of time.

I have just checked my hot matches. A couple of weeks back I deleted all those not relevant and there have been none added since.

I gave up on hot matches some time ago and preferred to check every 7 days or so on my 'surname summary' area found by clicking on the surname information board. Now looking up on the 'surname area' this has somewhat been changed...why??...it worked perfectly before....I am at a loss!

As I said on Eddies thread I don't think that HotMatches have run fully since GR announced that they were planning to introduce the POB into the match criteria.

Like many of you who have posted on this topic, my "Hot Matches" were last sent before Christmas and, like most of you, find them to be a waste of time anyway! We are however, paying for this service!
I just wonder why GR can compare the name of someone born in Australia to the same name of a person born in Scotland and call it a "Hot" match? A rather chilly match I'd say.

First of all you are not paying for HotMatches. They come as part of the free service provided to all members of this site.

Secondly, GR have previously made it plain that POB was not being matched, for several reasons, mainly technical ones. However, they did announce around Christmas time that hey would be introducing POB matching this year.

Presumably they are currently working on this, which is why we haven't seen any since the announcement.

Sorry for delay in catching up on this thread. My SUPER HOTMATCH showed me a little tree of the match and his parents, one was my tree the other was another person on here with the Exact match. Hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.

hi for those of you not getting any hot matches

i sent a question and it turned out i had "opted out" of receiving them
"funny i don't remember doing that

anyhow apparently i have now been opted back in

i haven't received any yet but its only 2 days will probably have to wait for the next lot which i'm told is about 14 days

any how send a request or play with your settings and you should be able to opt back in
