I do hope somebody can help me I have a grandfather by the name of Charles Dent he was born in Tasmania in 1870 I have reason to believe he had a middle name and I have been told it is KING. Can anyone please confirm this for me.

Would we be looking at UK, if he came over here or Australian records?

Do you have a marriage certificate? There is a chance that his full name is given on that - or was one of his maternal ancestors on either side a King which got incorporated?

In retrospect in may be better to delete this thread and re start on Trying to Find or Records. There is more of a chance of looker uppers spotting the request.

Sat Nav that you also I had that information but my mother in law swears his name was King in the middle. I am just trying to confirm it.

If these are your ancestors then your MIL is right.
You will need Charles death cert. to prove that you have the right birth.
