interested in what the answers might be lol.

Looking at the boards on here, the percentage of women posting is much higher than men... do you think women are more interested in FH? or is it just that they like chatting more in general? ( or are men just more interested in active things or watching footie lol...thats a massive generalisation of course)

Do men and women use the internet 'differently'? if you think they do , why do you think that is?

xx

RR - it's a well known fact that the ladies have the franchise of the tongue.

On the other hand, the lads work on the basis of 'why use two words when one will do'.

Hmmm! Dermot........seems ter me that was more than one word.......are you trying to tell us something? :-))))))

Rambling Report 23 Jan 2011 18:51

Ah now Dermot, that would explain why men might post shorter posts, but not why they post fewer? ( edit: or fewer men post).

Are men more single-minded do you think...in that if they go on a family history site, they are 'doing family history' and nothing else (ie they look at records etc but don't 'chat'.?

It is a well known fact that men cannot multitask. It is not their fault it is how they are programmed! lol For instance right now, I am juggling three melons, singing an aria from Carmen, line dancing, ,cooking a four course supper, pouring wine and playing on here. No problemo:-) BC XX errrr what was the question? lol

But Rose.....I thought you knew.......

Most men are much too busy making important decisions and statements so that they can continue to influence world events!

Cx :))

~~~~BC, mind those melons!
But men not being able ot multi-task doesn't quite explain why there are not many posting here? They could make that their 'one task' ?
Rambling Report 23 Jan 2011 19:09
lol Cynthia, that's it is it? I had forgotten that ;)
In the home, females are management & males are labour - until the former goes into labour, at which point the latter panics & mismanages everything.
(Apologies if you have seen this before.)
Having worked in the pub trade most of my life,I would say that men tend to go to the pub to chew the fat.
Perhaps fewer men are interested in geneology?
Or,perhaps men are not so easily sidetracked?
Mind you,my hubby could talk for England,he once kept a bloke talking outside the pub at chucking out time,for so long,that the birds were up before he came home.I know that wasn't an excuse because I was with him at the time.
I think the thread a few days ago which called into question the mental stability of one of the members here, a lady who posts as Amy, explains why so few men come here. It is often so bitchy and ill-humoured that many men don't bother to post.
It does n't mean they don't look in for a laugh though, they just don't post here.
Well, Eddie, you are not a bundle of laughs yourself! In my humble female opinion of course:-) BCXX
Men arn't such gasbags lol,and,they tend to hold their tongues more than woman.
But, I bet a lot read the posts and have a good laugh at some of the things that are being discussed.
