Waltzing Matilda has a good tune and would be good with a different name and words. It was tried some years ago and named "God Bless Australia" but a vote put it second to Advance Australia Fair.
My favourite is "I Still Call Australia Home", but I suppose it would be difficult to march to when played in 3/4 tempo. Oh well, we can always dance to it!

I like Waltzing Mathilda, know all the words to it.

I don't know many of the words your anthem. I loved it in Boys from the Bush when the pommy lad was becoming an Australian citizen and he along with his Aussie sponsors all had to sing the Anthem and he was the only one who knew the words.

Years ago at a Commonwealth games here you would've thought the chicken dance was your anthem, everytime Oz won a race at the pool (which was nearly every race) they would break out into the dance.

Happy day after Australia Day.
For those on t' other side of the world who think we are a bit fast and loose with our national anthem, we like it. It says something about us, not our ancient history (like the US and France). It was proclaimed our national anthem about 1983 and it is better than our previous one, which was purely about our lady head of state (E. Windsor, that is, not Quentin Bryce who is the Governor General).
IMHO (actually not so humble) it beats the song about a sheep thief who committed suicide to escape the representatives of the law. I do like the tune of Waltzing Matilda though. Very jaunty.
Hooroo.
