I wouldn't have the very special friends I have without the internet - but it's not my whole life. I have a number of hobbies and of course my family that keep me very busy as well as the work I do.

I can't imagine being without the internet. I still read a lot and do jigsaw puzzles but the internet opened a whole new world for puzzles for me.
I can quite happily spend all day on the pc chasing elusive ancesters without the worry or need to interact with 'humans' .
It does also give me the freedom to stay intouch with friends that are too far away to see, aswell as 'meet' new people.
I google so much, keep up with the news (something I never used to do before) keep tabs on latest books etc (I hate shopping and crowded places)

The need to be on the pc contacting people isn't there and doesn't stop me going out when the need or chance arrives.

So I'm happier for the having the internet

There is so much information on the internet, and I feel that my general knowledge has broadened considerably. Still do my hobbies, mainly knitting and reading, and still managed the housework.

Rose, I 'waste' far too much time on the computer, but have learned a lot about all sorts of things, and have made some very good friends, some of whom I have met face to face and who I can relate to more than some of my so called friends in the real world, who have not got on with my partner so it's made it difficult to keep up with.

Also it has helped being on here as my health and situation has changed so good and bad to becoming a silver surfer.

Yes, in a word, Rose. I have several hobbies, but genealogy is one of them and the trouble is, when I'm on the computer doing that, i just can't resist looking on here or FB now and again and then I get involved in that and, well, you know - it all gets more time consuming than it should be. At least I don't do what a friend of mine does - she loves playing games on the internet and, when she can't sleep at night, she gets on the computer and plays games - can't think of anything more boring myself.

Think it's the weather at the moment - it's quite cosy to sit at the computer. Hopefully, in a month or two, we shall pop out of our chrysalises and 'look outwards' again lol!

in some ways did NOT being able to connect with so many people make you look 'outwards' a bit more?

I was thinking that last, because while looking on FB I found that the same names were 'linking'...you know that 'six degrees of seperation' thing? until it goes round full circle and you're back where you started lol.

Just one of my 'daft questions' nights, and I don't even have to have a drink to have those lol.
