This morning while driving to T..co it felt like we
were on the dodgems at the fairground. Same
all over the country I know, but has anyone noticed
the bumps on the road to slow us down are not
affected by the bad weather, so I was thinking why
not fill in the potholes with the same stuff they use
for the bumps.

Hello again.

Probably because they are on a 'hump' and water runs off,not gathering in puddles which turn to ice and expand cracking it all etc.

There is a lot about though.

I read about a new liquid to melt snow/ice etc. Turn out that sheep like the sweet taste of it and go on the roads..we cant win lol

Many new areas of roadway done just last year are already cracked and sinking.
With Norwich having lots of chalkmines below the streets and already had incidents where buses have fallen into holes (one end only luckily) and other accidents, it's sure to happen more often now the road surfaces are damaged and the water seeps in more.

When the roads are busy in the city it's hard and dangerous to suddenly veer and avoid a pothole.

We have lots of potholes in our street and it is very hard on the back to keep going over thes places. We know that it will take time to recover, but if the roads were kept a better eye on in the first place there would not be so many. They send the street cleaner lorry round and it makes the holes worse as it brushes out any loose tarmac.

It's a sad state of affairs for the whole country, I agree
with you Jean the cleaner lorry does more damage
than good. When years ago you had men sweeping
the streets with their brushes and barrow they kept
an eye out for any deteriation on the roads but nowadays
there is a greater volume of traffic which the roads were not
built for.

There,s really no excuse for the Roads being in such a bad condition, when you consider all the money collected in roadTax etc, its just neglect by the powers that be.About time something was done about it.**M**.Ps. Emma, I,ve climbed out now.:o)>
