Please can anyone help. Has the Registry Office always been at Southover Grange, if not, where was it before. Also I have a birth which states 'St. John under the Castle' Obviously it's near the castle but is it a specific address. The mind boggles as to a birth under the castle!!!!

Again, my thanks to all of you for any help you may be able to give.

Not sure about the registry office but St John under the Castle is a church very near but down the hill from the castle- hence the name or sometimes written as St John sub Castro.

Many thanks Pammy51. I suppose the birth was in a street near the church.
