Please can anyone help. Has the Registry Office always been at Southover Grange, if not, where was it before. Also I have a birth which states 'St. John under the Castle' Obviously it's near the castle but is it a specific address. The mind boggles as to a birth under the castle!!!! |

Not sure about the registry office but St John under the Castle is a church very near but down the hill from the castle- hence the name or sometimes written as St John sub Castro. |

Many thanks Pammy51. I suppose the birth was in a street near the church. |
