Recently I have been chasing relatives in homes and discovered that there were several Homes in London area under the Waifs and Strays Society which later became The Children's Society. Worth trying but I warn you that you will have to be patient. In the beginning they will beable to tell you whether or not your father was in one of their Homes but you will then after producing documentation wait 3 months or so for reports of his records. and [email protected]

Good luck

Hi Linda.
As others have said, the Waifs & Strays Society is a good bet, but there is a very long wait for info.
I applied in October, provided birth & marriage certs for my g grandmother, mother & myself to prove relationship.
Had a very apologetic letter from them saying they were rushed off their feet & they woild try to get the info to me by April.

This must be a first :-D

It is usually someone new adding to a very old post, not the original poster coming back after so long.

I wonder if Linda was ever able find anything.
